I have been searching for a 90 lb adjustable dumbbell for some time. This one is the Bees Knees! It has a strong design, gym style knurled handles, it is compact, has a solid twist to change weight and it is well balanced. I am very happy with my 90 lb adjustable dumbbells from GTA Fitness.
LONG BUT DETAILED REVIEW INCOMING
This dumbbell isn’t your run of the mill dumbbell to say the least, i’ll start with my dislikes as i’m sure buyers remorse is making them more apparent than they should be. for starters, it has a plastic locking system and it gives it an overall cheap feel, on top of that the handles are thicker than a normal dumbbells (due to locking system being inside of the grip) so it’s essentially a free “fat gripz” (forearm trainer for dumbbells) which i love but the friends i have over often complain about their lack of strength on these specific dumbbells due to more forearm engagement than a normal dumbbell. with all that out of the way, time for the positives; these dumbbells are simple and easy to use, the cheapest adjustable i could find on the market (and trust me i searched some sketchy places), and their ability to go up to 90 pounds while taking up less space than a 10lbs-50lbs rack of dumbbells would is immaculate for someone in need of a good quality workout without compromising valuable space. paired with Mikolo’s K6 power cage (about $900) I turned the basement of a baltimore townhouse into a gym that comfortably works about 5-6 at any given moment. overall these dumbbells are the only set of dumbbells you’ll ever need for newer and even intermediate gym-goers, but due to the size of the handle grips and the weights variance only reaching 90lbs, a garage gym would most likely benefit from the addition of a few dumbbells with a normal grip, and a few over 100 lbs.
